SPCG is a community and family oriented amateur radio club. We support emergency operations of our local fire, police, EMS, Emergency Management, and civic activities.
Our club meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month at 09:00. During pleasant weather, we meet at the Picnic Pavilion at Sweeny Park, found at the end of Playground Ally in Shrewsbury Borough. When weather isn't suitable for outdoor meetings, we meet at the Shrewsbury Borough Office, 35 W. Railroad Ave., Shrewsbury, PA 17361
SPCG, in cooperation with the Hilltoppers Radio club, conducts FCC amateur radio examinations on the second Saturday of the even-numbered months. The SPCG has a long history of providing communications during times of emergency and many of our members are members of ARES. Whether it be a blizzard, hurricane, wide spread phone outage, fire, or terrorist attack, we’ve provided communications. We assisted Shrewsbury Borough in designing and constructing Amateur communications for their Emergency Operations Center and we are there to staff it when needed.
